Watching some Star Trek TOS. Loving the camp; it's priceless. But I've been noticing a few things.

1. Shatner said in an interview that he was confused about why George Takei disliked him so much since they hardly ever worked together and didn't really know each other. Hunter and I discussed, wondering how that could be since Sulu was a major character on the show. I have since learned that he's really not. He and Kirk really didn't have that many scenes together. Bridge scenes were pretty much the only time they were together, but Kirk was often off the bridge on the planet.

2. Kirk and Spock's love may be oh-so pure, but McCoy mixed in makes for some serious kink. Those three are definitely all in on the sexy-times together.

3. Spock is a BITCH! He has spent the last three or four episodes doing nothing but being catty with people who use colloquialisms instead of "speaking logically".

4. "Captain, I'm frightened" is one of the most over-used female lines.

5. The rumors of Kirk being a giant man-slut is only half true. He is an incorrigible flirt, but half the time, it isn't his fault. Women are just as likely to throw themselves at him. Thinking of women - Sulu: "I don't want to have to shoot a woman!" Yeah, whatever. Sometimes, a woman needs a slap in the face just like men do from time to time. And Kirk is totally willing to bitchslap a female in need of a good slapping. Refreshingly equal opportunity.

6. Sulu just tripped, fell, and made a girly noise while being chased by the bad guy. Way to fill the role of "girl", Sulu.

7. Spock pointed out that Kirk couldn't fall in love with a woman because he was already in love with the Enterprise. *grin*

8. Unless your name is Kirk, Spock, or McCoy, you are a stupid child no matter who you are, and you will potentially be torn a new one for your misconceptions.

9. No one runs! Tons of ambling zombie-monsters, and people just stand there, wide-eyed while they let the slow-walking zombie-monsters come upon them.

10. Ed Wood would completely approve of these sets.

11. I think one of my favorite scenes ever was "Errand of Mercy" where the Organians stopped the Klingons and Federation from waging war. Kirk and Kor got all pissy TOGETHER about the Organians. It was truly beautiful.

12. It is *so hard* to be Ensign Redshirt. Very, very hard.

Scribbles in Action

What they don't understand, Gordon, is that when you push someone too far, when you take away everything that they care about, then there is no more fear... All you have left is billions of dollars with which to make their lives miserable.
- The Will to Act [Batman: The Dark Knight]

Desperation was plain in [Z's] voice as he begged, "Please, tell me how I can sleep with my boss without being transferred or shot!"
- Z Smut [From Eroica With Love]

"Oh no, House. You've started this; you're my boyfriend now. And you're stuck with it for the next two weeks." Crossing his arms across his chest, he turned a sharp glare on House. "But do you think it's possible that you can pretend to care about someone besides yourself for that long?"
- The Gift That Keeps on Giving [House]

"Nah, he'll be fine." It served him right, anyway. Getting dragged off by an amorous giant squid was a sort of cosmic justice for all the times Jack had flirted with every pretty face in the room.
- The Oncoming Storm [Doctor Who]

"It's your fault," he said without thinking. "I'm Commander Riker to your Captain Picard. We make a great team. And if you say that you don't know who they are, I will buy a television and force you to watch TV Land until you're up to speed on cultural common knowledge."
- Good Times Bad Times [NCIS]
