Further hatred of people
January 7th, 2010 02:32 pmLetterman made an exceptionally tasteless joke about the trans-community on show last night. News article reported on how he/CBS got jumped all over for this. Whatever. Letterman makes stupid, tasteless jokes about everybody - it's equal opportunity in poking fun at all people. But the replies to the news article? Guh. I use the WANK icon on them, even if they're not on LJ.
Some personal favorites:
**You can't make a joke about anyone anymore. I miss the days when every one stayed in the closet and kept their gender issues out of the public lime light. IF YOU PUT YOUR PRIVATE LIFE OUT THERE THEN YOU ARE FAIR GAME!!!!
**You have a right to tell anyone and every one about your issues....I have a right to laugh about them.
**Come on! Transgender people look funny, weird, etc ....Let's call it "different" ....at least in most cases. That is a fact.
**I am all for people being free to do whatever they want so long as they aren't hurting anyone. But if you are a transgender and you meet someone at a bar, regardless of their gender, the fact that you are trasngender had better be the second thing you say to them. If not then whatever happens to you later that night is on YOUR head.
Props to Amanda Simpson on being appointed to the Department of Commerce.
