Oh, good grief!
January 20th, 2010 05:16 pmJerky McJerkface did a really SHIT job of his cross-examination on Friday at the "Prop 8 is a stupid law" trial. Which is actually good and fine by me. Here are some highlights:
1) He handed the Judge and the witness a series of documents ... which the Judge had to point out were in the binder upside down. >__< Not good for them. Poor Prop 8.
2) Prop 8 lawyer got seriously schooled several times by the researcher witness for using the wrong terminology over and over to refer to studies.
3) After rambling and being schooled for a LONG TIME:
Lawyer: You agree that setting limits for children is important?
Judge: That’s not the only area in which setting limits are important.
[HUGE LAUGHTER]
4) The the Prop 8 lawyer got schooled by the Judge! Again and again! Not good for their side. Oh no!
I.)
Lawyer: I’m going to try to show that [witness] does not compare with married heterosexuals. He compares with all heterosexual parents, including those who are not married.
Judge: He’s your witness; ask him.
II.)
Lawyer: (Waiving hands) We’re trying to show that optimal way to raise kids is in heterosexual households.
Judge: We are trying a case. There is a way to ask these questions so we move along quickly. Why not just list documents and ask questions at end?
Lawyer: Good suggestion.
[LAUGHTER]
